Wills, Living Wills & Probate

At all times, our commitment is to provide our clients with practical advice and assistance which will allow them to resolve disputes, settle contentious issues and overcome legal problems.

Introduction to Wills, Living Wills & Probate

When it comes to Wills and Estates, Felton McKnight’s clients are assured of a customer-orientated service at all times.

We can offer effective and astute guidance to those who wish to make a Will or review their existing arrangement to ensure the future financial security of their family or dependants.

Wills

Making a Will is the best way to ensure your wishes are carried out and that your intended beneficiaries are properly catered for. If you do not leave a Will, your Estate will be distributed by the Rules of Intestacy under the Succession Act 1965 and this may leave your dependants not as well provided for as you wished.

Living Will/Advance Healthcare Directive

The creation of a Living Will/Advance Healthcare Directive enables you to make a statement about the type and extent of medical or surgical treatment which you want in the future on the assumption that you will not be able to make that decision at the relevant time. The Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) Act 2015 provides laws for Living Wills/Advance Healthcare Directives in Ireland and although the Act has not yet been commenced, and is therefore currently not legally binding, they are generally referenced and adhered to.

Administration of Estates

We can also advise anybody who has the responsibility of Administering the Estate of a deceased person and provide clear and practical advice on their legal obligations.

Dealing with an Estate of a deceased person can be quite complex and you may require assistance regarding specific rights or taxation implications. We can assist you or your next of kin with all matters relating to the Administration of an Estate, including guidance on all taxation and financial issues which may arise.  We will source appropriate taxation advice for you as the need arises.

Client Testimonials

My wife and I would like to highly recommend the firm of Felton McKnight Solicitors of Greystones as a highly professional, ethical and extremely competent firm of solicitors. Over the past 5 years they have managed our family and extended families legal affairs through some very intense and complicated probate and conveyancing issues. Through all of the legal difficulties they have shown an ability to guide our family to final solutions and completions that took a great deal empathy, kindness, professionalism and most of all, detailed knowledge of the legal complexities and requirements.
